Despite it being legal in California, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster was arrested for weed in Alabama on Friday (Jan. 12).

According to ESPN, Roster was charged with second-degree marijuana possession charge, a Class A misdemeanor in Alabama.

He was released Friday night on $2,500 bond.

Following the arrest, the 49ers released the following statement, saying: “The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Reuben Foster and we are currently gathering all relevant facts.”

The arrest comes nearly two weeks after Foster closed out his rookie season, finishing second on the 49ers in tackles with 72 in 10 games.
