Kevin Gates is a free man, after being released from prison on Wednesday (Jan. 10), reports TMZ.
The Baton Rouge rapper served nine months of a 30-month sentence for a weapons-related warrant in an Illinois state prison.
As part of his new parole terms, Gates will be under mandatory supervision and he is being restricted from possessing any firearms. Fortunately, there were no outstanding warrants upon his release.
While behind bars, Gate released a mixtape titled By Any Means 2.
Now a free man, he plans on working with at-risk youth by speaking with kids via various organizations to help them avoid the same legal troubles that have burdened his life.
Upon Gates’ release, he posted a cryptic message on social media, which you can see below.
