After releasing his Compton album in 2015, it was thought Dr. Dre’s long-delayed Detox was officially scrapped.

Well, the Good Doctor has just sparked rumors that it may just see the light of day after all.

ESPN reporter Chris Haynes ran into Dre at a Golden State Warriors practice on Tuesday (Jan. 9) and asked him if Detox is shelved. While we expected him to immediately say yes, he didn’t. Instead, he told Haynes that “I’m working on a couple songs right now. We’ll see.”

Back in 2015, Dre said that Detox had been scrapped because he wasn’t happy with it. “I didn’t like it,” he said at the time. “It wasn’t good. The record, it just wasn’t good. I worked my ass off on it, and I don’t think I did a good enough job.”

While we won’t hold our breath waiting on Detox, if it does ever see a release, it’s unlikely any of the material recorded over the last 10 years will end up on the project.

Is anybody still checking for Detox?
