In-N-Out has added its first new menu item in over a decade. Its likely not what you expected… hot cocoa.
The Southern California burger chain actually added the item back in November. It is by Ghirardelli and made with hot water and mini marshmallows. In-N-Out Hot Cocoa sells for just $1.65.
In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder said her grandparents served hot cocoa for many years beginning in the 1950s. “I’m not sure how it fell off the menu but it’s part of our culture and something special for kids, and I’m happy that we’re bringing it back,” she said.
“For a certain generation, hot cocoa is an In-N-Out classic, and we hope it will be a favorite of a new generation. It’s quality cocoa from Ghiradelli and yes, we serve it with marshmallows!”
In-N-Out has rarely made changes to its menu during its 70-year history. It serves only burgers, fries, milkshakes and fountain beverages. The last time it added a new menu item was around 15 years ago, when it began serving lemonade.
