Following a recent collaboration with Supreme, Katsuhiro Otomo’s 1982 manga series, Akira, celebrates its 35th anniversary with a new hardcover box set.
The release is presented in six hardcover volumes, which features the original Japanese art in a right-to-left reading format for the first time ever. it also comes with the hardcover Akira Club art book and an exclusive patch with the iconic pill design.
Kodansha published the first chapter of Akira in 1982, a dystopian saga set in Neo-Tokyo, a city recovering from thermonuclear attack and order is left in ruins. In 1988, the manga was adapted into what was at the time the most expensive animated film ever made.
