The Beastie Boys just dropped vinyl reissues for the collectors for three albums: The Inside From Way Out, To the Five Boroughs, and Hot Sauce Committee Part Two — each a 180g press and released officially through Capitol Records.
The Inside From Way Out is an instrumental collection originally released in 1996, mixing in new tracks with instrumentals from the trio’s classic Check Your Head and Ill Communication albums. The jazz-funk record includes keyboard instrumentals from Money Mark, who collaborated with the group throughout the ’90s.
To the Five Boroughs originally debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Charts in 2004 and eventually received a platinum certification status. The album’s lead single, “Ch-Check It Out,” also landed as number one on the Modern Rock Tracks chart, the first hip-hop single to do so.
The group’s final album, Hot Sauce Sauce Committee Part Two, was originally released in 2011, a year before the death of founding member Adam “MCA,” Yauch, who had been battling cancer since 2009. Following MCA’s death, the group decided to disband out of respect for the fallen band member. Hot Sauce Committee Part Two includes features from Nas and Santigold.
