Young hip-hop fans might not know or recall, but Jay-Z had two partners in Roc-A-Fella Records. The more well known partner was Dame Dash, but the other, behind the scenes partner was Kareem “Biggs” Burke.
Biggs was instrumental in building the Roc-A-Fella brand, as Jay shot to super stardom in the late 1990s and early 2000s, before all three split to pursue other ventures.
With that said, Biggs has been making moves since being released from prison in early 2016, after serving four years in prison for marijuana trafficking. Today, he’s involved in a number of ventures. Most notably, he partnered with Nike for the re-release of the iconic Air Force 1 “Roc-A-Fella”, in celebration of the silhouettes 35th anniversary.
Biggs visited The Breakfast Club this week to discuss all he has going on presently, while also recalls stories of the past.
Watch the interview above to learn more about the beginnings of Jay-Z’s career and Roc-A-Fella to Biggs’ latest endeavors.
