DMX Strikes Deal in Tax Evasion Case, Still Facing Time

DMX has reportedly struck a deal with the IRS in his tax evasion case.

According to TMZ, the rapper pleaded guilty plea to one count of tax evasion, and now faces up to 5 years in prison. He initially was looking at more than 40 years.

DMX’s lawyer Murray Richman said that his client did not knowingly avoid paying taxes on royalties and other monies.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 29.

DMX was originally charged with 14 counts of tax evasion for allegedly concealing his income for years and racking up around $1.7 million in unpaid taxes.
