Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar shook the foundations of hip-hop with his critically acclaimed album, DAMN, when it dropped in April. With completely out-of-this-world production, amazing lyricism, great features, and delivery unlike any other project, the album solidifies King Kendrick as one of the best rappers in the industry currently. Rolling Stone seems to agree, as they have named DAMN the best album of 2017.

On Monday (Nov. 27), the mag placed the album atop its "50 Best Albums of 2017" list.

"Rap's most powerful voice at the absolute top of his game, with nothing left to prove but his staying power. Where 2015's To Pimp a Butterfly and 2016's Untitled Unmastered exploded rap formally with disparate flows, kaleidoscopic Flying Lotus beats, and Afro-delic Kamasi Washington jazz-funk jams, DAMN shows how dazzling the man can be simply spitting verses," writes Rolling Stone.

Among the top 10 list is Lorde who arrives at No. 2 with her Melodrama album , Kesha at no. 4 with Rainbow. Khalid jumps in at No. 6 with his debut album, American Teen. Taylor Swift lands at No. 7 with Reputation, Migos appear at No. 9 with Culture, and Sam Smith appears at No. 10 with The Thrill of it All.
