After President Trump took to Twitter to brag that he made the call to get LiAngelo Ball out of jail in China after he was busted shoplifting, he’s now saying he should’ve left them there.

Ball’s father LaVar was asked about Trump’s involvement in the situation last week and he told ESPN: “WHO?”

“What was he over there for? Don’t tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out,” LaVar added.

Well, thisĀ  angered Trump, who took to Twitter (of course) to respond. “Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail,” he tweeted.

WOW! Just WOW!!

That wasn’t it, Trump returned to Twitter later in the day, doubling down on his previous comments.

“Shoplifting is a very big deal in China, as it should be (5-10 years in jail), but not to father LaVar,” he wrote. “Should have gotten his son out during my next trip to China instead. China told them why they were released. Very ungrateful!”

In addition to LiAngelo, UCLA freshmen Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were also arrested.

Since their return to Los Angeles, UCLA has announced that all three players have been indefinitely suspended.
