Elon Musk’s surprise during Tesla’s unveiling event this past week was… the return of the Roadster.

The brand’s new version of their original sports car is back… and it’s the fastest production car ever made, according to Musk.

The second generation Telsa Roadster can zoom from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds and 0 to 100 in 4.2 second, while topping out at just above 250 mph.. Also, it can complete a quarter-mile in 8.9 seconds.

Those numbers are for the base model Roadster too, which also has a 200 kWh battery pack that offers a 630-mile range.

During the event, Tesla offered rides to anyone who put down a $50,000 deposit for the Roadster. You can reserve your own for $50,000 down, with the pricetag coming to $200,000 for the base model. Or, there’s also 1,000 Founders Series models with more performance for $250,000 USD.
