While it has only been over a month since her Trip release, Jhene Aiko is already plotting new music!

With her “Trip (The Tour)” featuring special guest Willow Smith, beginning in just a couple of days, the pair sat down in an interview with Billboard to discuss not only the tour and their connection, but also their excitement in doing a collaborative jazz project.

When asked about how they will spend their downtown time on this tour, Aiko said, “I want to make music. I’ll have a studio on my bus, and she can come through with her guitar.”

“I think we should do a jazz album,” she added.

“Let’s! Honestly, we can get a bunch of musicians in a room and just vibe out,” Smith eagerly replied.

Both Aiko and Smith are no stranger to one another, as Willow toured with Aiko in 2014. When asked why she enlisted Willow for that tour again, Aiko replied, “It’s crazy because just following her career and social media, I felt connected to her, especially seeing her talk about being an indigo and a star seed. I saw so much of myself in her.”

While Jhene has been busy with both the audio and visual releases of Trip, her budding relationship with rapper Big Sean, and her upcoming tour, Willow has also been grinding with her new sophomore album, The 1st, which dropped on Halloween.

Beginning on Tuesday (Nov. 14) in Detroit, Jhene’s “Trip (The Tour)” will also feature Kodie Shane, Kitty Cash, and St. Beauty for select dates. The tour will push through December, hitting Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and New York before ending in San Diego. She will then officially end the tour with a bang with a solo performance on Dec. 27 in Honolulu.
