Chevrolet returns with the 2019 edition of the iconic Corvette. This one, however, is the ZR1, the brand’s most powerful ever.
The car maker says this Corvette is the fastest and most powerful Corvette to date, boasting a supercharged 6.2-liter LT5 V8 engine that produces 755 horsepower and 715 pounds of torque. Paired to either a seven-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic transmission, it can reach a top speed of 210 mph.
Additionally, the supercar features a front fascia and “downforce-enhancing front underwing”, which enables the ZR1 to produce 70% more downforce than the Z06’s base aero package. The optional ZTK Performance Package includes a front splitter and adjustable “High Wing” for 950 lbs of downforce, as well as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer tires and more.
The 2019 Corvette ZR1 is shown here in two color, including Sebring Orange, a package featuring an orange theme throughout.
It will go on sale next spring, though pricing has yet to be announced.
