Vans builds on the legacy of it’s first ever signature shoe, with an updated take on Steve Caballero’s iconic Full Cab.

The offering features suede and crocodile embossed leather, alongside an all-new gold dragon lace lock and coming in four seasonal colors: blanc de blanc, black, racing red and the Foot Locker-exclusive scarab green.

The Full Cab is widely considered the first signature athlete shoe released in the skateboarding industry. Built with function, performance and protection in mind during the early ‘90s, the shoe has steadily transitioned into a lifestyle staple.

Originally named the Caballero, the shoe was first released in 1989. “I wanted a shoe that was functional for vert and skating pools but that was also stylish,” Caballero says. He incorporated reinforced toe pieces and extra ankle support for protection while skating steep transition.

“Before I was sponsored by Vans, I was wearing a lot of different high tops — mostly old basketball shoes. If you look closely at the Full Cab, you can see some of the inspiration there from the ankle support to the structural top closure.”

The Vans Full Cab drops soon at select retailers and Footlocker for $95 USD.
