Fresh off the heels of their electrifying single, “Lemon” featuring Rihanna, N.E.R.D completely dominated Day 1 of ComplexCon on Saturday (Nov. 4). While it has been about three years since the trio graced a stage together, Chad Hugo, Shay Hayley and Pharrell came together and delivered one of their most unforgettable shows yet, as they debuted their new album, No_One Ever Really Dies live!
There has been no official release date set for the album as of press time, ComplexCon attendees received a special treat, a live listen to entire upcoming project. During the group’s set, Pharrell shared, “The album is not coming out tomorrow. We’re giving it to you. It’s yours. You got it before everybody else.” Although the album is not yet available for streaming, the tracklist is truly monumental. It will boast 11 songs, alongside features from the likes of Rihanna, Future, Kendrick Lamar, Wale and several other heavy hitters.
Filled with vibrancy, charisma, high energy, tons of dancers, and even dope cars as props, the trio killed their set in the best way possible. The vibe in Long Beach, CA was amazing, and the performances were outstanding. Fans literally experienced a massive listening party with N.E.R.D. With much eagerness and excitement, viewers and attendees watched an orange haired Pharrell confidently blaze the stage as he performed “Lemon” not once, but three times with a troupe of dancers behind him, before ending with a fist in the air.
