It was only a matter of time. UFC star Conor McGregor lands his first solo cover, becoming the face of EA Sports UFC 3.
EA Sports announced the news on Friday (Nov. 3) that McGregor will be the global cover athlete for the upcoming game, which is slated to drop in February 2018.
Although McGregor appeared on the cover of the previous version of the game, it was shared with former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. This time, he’s on the cover all by himself, with two title belts draped over his shoulders.
Two belts, two covers – EA SPORTS got it right again,” McGregor said of the cover. “It’s an honor to be on the cover and I can’t wait to play the game.”
According to EA, EA Sports UFC 3 is powered by Real Player Motion (RPM) Tech, a new gameplay animation technology that delivers “the most fluid and responsive motion in EA SPORTS UFC history.” It will also feature a new G.O.A.T. Career Mode, which means that players’ choices outside the Octagon matter as much as their performance inside it. In the new mode, players can strategically promote upcoming fights, create heated rivalries and more.
EA Sports UFC 3 will be available on February 2, 2018 for the Xbox One and PS4.
