Philadelphia 76ers second-year player Ben Simmons made his NBA debut this week… and made history.

The 21-year-old, who missed his rookie year last season due to injury, became the first Sixers player — and just the 11th in NBA history — to begin his career with two double-doubles this week.

Unfortunately, both of those games ended with losses for the team.

In Simmons’ first game, he recorded 18 points and 10 rebounds, while he put up 11 and 11 in his second game, alongside 5 assists.

Despite the feat, the young player is looking for team wins, not individual ones. “I took what they gave me, it wasn’t enough obviously,” he said post-game. “That’s just the way I play.”
