Just two months after dropping his debut album, 17, XXXTentacion has reportedly signed a $6 million deal with Capitol Music Group.
Accoring to Billboard, the Florida rapper’s deal is with indie Capitol distributor Caroline and will cover his future material.
XXXTentacion’s 17 album dropped in late August, via EMPIRE Records. It moved 87,000 equivalent album units in its first week, which was the largest debut in EMPIRE’s history, reports Billboard. Through October 12, it has moved 313,000 equivalent album units in the U.S.
Despite his success, X’s career has not been without controversy, as well. He was arrested earlier this month on a charge of aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, and more.
His trial begins December 11.
