Huawei joins forces with Porsche Design once again for a special edition version of its latest smartphone, the Mate 10 Pro.
The limited Mate 10 device marries Porsche Design’s aesthetic with Huawei’s mobile engineering expertise. Unique from the standard model, the device sports a glass construction (though it looks ceramic) that is done up in a “Diamond Black” hue for a sleek and glossy look. It also comes with a customized flip-cover in luxe leather.
In addition to the design, the Porsche Design Mate 10 Pro carries all the same features, including a dual camera system engineered with Leica, as well as 256 GB of flash memory and 6 GB of RAM, while running Android 8 Oreo.
The main highlight is the built-in dedicated AI processor and machine learning, which will allow it to significantly reduce the phone’s performance degradation over time, which the company has identified as a major problem with Android devices in general. It uses on-device processing to build a model of how you use the phone and allocates resources with machine learning predicting user behavior.
The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 10 drops in Europe in early December, with a pricetag of around $1,650 USD. Select Huawei retail stores in Asia and the Middle East will also carry the phone in December.
