WHOA! Real Nissan GT-R Made Into Remote-Controlled Car

In celebration of Gran Turismo Sport for the PS4, Nissan creates a one-off project car that is modded to be driven via a PS4 controller.

This GT-R /C is fitted with four robots that operate the steering, transmission, brakes and throttle, which works alongside six computers mounted in the rear to update the controls at up to 100 times a second. These robots are then controlled by an unmodified DualShock®4 PS4 controller, allowing someone to drive the car from a distance!!

As shown in the video above, NISMO athlete and GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough put the special GT-R to the test, driving it around Silverstone's famous National Circuit from a helicopter cockpit above.

On Mardenborough's fastest lap (1:17:47), the GT-R /C averaged 76 mph and reached a top speed of 131 mph.

Gran Turismo Sport releases October 17th, exclusively for the PS4, followed by an October 18 drop in Europe and Australia on October 18, and October 19 in Japan.
