Looks like the high school basketball career of LaMelo Ball is over.

His outspoken father, LaVar Ball, recently told the L.A. Times that he is pulling 16-year-old junior from Chino Hills High School and will home school him.

“I’m going to make him the best basketball player ever,” LaVar said. “It’s good for Melo. Less distractions. He just needs to focus.”

LaVar was fed up with the coaching staff at Chino Hills, specifically Dennis Latimore, who is the third coach in the last three years for the Huskies.

LaMelo scored 92 points for Chino Hills in a game last season, while his older brother Lonzo is the Lakers’ new point guard and brother LiAngelo will be a freshman at UCLA.

The teen will no longer play for a high school team. Instead, his father says he will play next spring in travel ball. “They’ll have to sit back and wait,” LaVar said.

And finally, LaVar also added that LaMelo still intends to sign with UCLA.

For Chino Hills, its a big loss for the school. With the Ball brothers, they sold out gyms and competed for championships.
