Los Angeles-based Eastern Projects Gallery recently opened a new art exhibit, dubbed California Locos: Masters of Style, showcasing the art of legendary artists from the city.

Anchored by the original California Logos core group — include Chaz Bojórquez, Dave Tourjé, John Van Hamersveld, Norton Wisdom and Gary Wong — the art was rooted in California subcultures like surf, skate, graffiti, hot rod, low riders, tattoos and music.

However, the exhibit also included the works of Shepard Fairey, Retna, OG Slick, Estevan Oriol and Mister Cartoon, with everything curated by Bojórquez.

The CALIFORNIA LOCOS have evolved into a movement which reflects the multicultural fabric of Southern California and it’s subcultures that have resonated worldwide. In true LOCOS style, opening night will feature a Lowrider by Mister Cartoon, Hot Rod by Dave Tourjé and a new Dusters California X CALIFORNIA LOCOS skateboard release. This first of its kind show of SoCal Masters promises to be a historic classic, opening Saturday, September 16th at Eastern Projects in LA’s Chinatown.

However, California Locos exhibit will be shown until October 28th at the Eastern Projects Gallery, located at: 900 N Broadway Suite 1090, Los Angeles, California 90012. Visit the website for more info.
