After opting not to re-up with the NBA as the its official supplier, Adidas said it planned to focus on signing players instead.
One of those players is Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The 22-year-old, who earned an All-Star selection and Most Improved Player honors last season, is currently fielding pitches from sneaker brands, as he decides whether or not to leave Nike when his current deal expires on September 30.
Apparently, Adidas wants to sign the young Giannis, and in their attempt, they delivered a truck full of sneakers to him, which he shared a photo of on Instagram. It was filled with a range of Adidas kicks, from Yeezys to various boxes of UltraBOOSTs.
While the gesture should definitely affect Giannis’s decision, his contract with Nike carries a “right to match” clause on any endorsement deal offer, according to ESPN. So, maybe it won’t be Giannis’s decision after all?
According to HighSnobiety, some believe he may opt to align with Chinese brand, Li-Ning, who can reportedly offer him an eight-figure deal annually.
