Childish Gambino x Chance the Rapper? Apparently, it just may happen.
Despite actor Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) flirting with rap retirement, he’s just not ready… apparently.
During a backstage interview at Sunday’s Emmys, where he won two awards, he made mention of the joint project with Chance, saying it would be a “double-mixtape”.
“I don’t ever want to do anything because I’m forced to,” Glover told reporters. “Once you do that, things start to get bad and you jump the shark. Also, I feel like if I don’t make a Chance the Rapper mixtape, like double mixtape, a bunch of 14-year-olds will kick my ass. They stop me on the street and it’s kind of scary. Youth scares me. So I feel like I’ve gotta do something. I probably will.”
Chance retweeted the Glover interview, but didn’t comment, which is sure to build the hype surrounding the project.
At press time, there were no further details.
Chance and Glover worked together in the past, including 2013’s “The Worst Guys” and “Favorite Song”.
