Its the battle of the smartphones. Following the announcements of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Apple’s iPhone X and iPhone 8, Google is poised to announce the next Pixel.

A year after introducing the initial model, the tech giant has announced its plan for the launch of the Pixel 2.

Teased via a “Funny you should ask…” video, the event will highlight the second version of the Google-branded phone, following last year’s Pixel and Pixel XL.

While details are still unknown, the event is expected to announce the HTC-made Pixel 2 and an LG-crafted Pixel 2 XL, both based on the Korean company’s V30.

The unveiling is set to kick off at 9 a.m. PT in San Francisco on October 4. Stay tuned for details.
