Fresh off the success of his Luv Is Rage 2 album, Lil Uzi Vert is apparently working on a rock album… and his idol Marilyn Manson may be collaborating with him.
During an interview with Consequence of Sound, Manson revealed that he and producer Tyler Bates plan to work with the rapper on next LP.
“He wants to do a rock album next, and I would love to see that happen because I think that he could make a new thing,” the rocker said. “Not some rock/rap type of thing, something special and new that I think needs to be created just to fuck the world up more.”
Mansion also describes the direction he feels Vert should go in for the rock album. “I think that if I had to pick what Lil Uzi Vert should be, if he’s involved in rock, it’s an early Bad Brains or Faith No More, but with a catchier element,” he said. “I think he has punk rock in him. He’s a lil’ crazy motherf*cker. And good. Smart as f*ck. He has an attitude like I did, and I like that about him.”
Lil Uzi Vert has been a fan of Mansion since he was a child. Earlier this year, the rapper dropped over $220,000 on a diamond-encrusted chain of Manson, made by Ben Baller’s IF&CO, which he debuted at Coachella.
Its unclear when we will see the two collaborate, so stay tuned for now.
Manson is prepping the release of his own album, Heaven Upside Down — the long-awaited follow-up to 2015’s The Pale Emperor.
