Ahead of the fight, Floyd looked to be in tip-top shape, sporting a shredded physique. How did his achieve this? By eating a hearty breakfast and lots of spaghetti, of course!
Seriously! Floyd’s personal chef, J. Santiago, broke down his diet ahead of the megafight to TMZ. A typical breakfast included eggs, home fries, grits, pancakes, and a meat option such as bacon, turkey sausage, or turkey ham.
Following breakfast, Mayweather had spaghetti bolognese almost every day leading up to the fight, which Santiago says is one of Floyd’s favorites, while other common meals included barbecued chicken and baked chicken with rice and gravy, as well as various soul food dishes.
According to TMZ’s report, Floyd ate just two bananas and drank water before Friday’s weigh-in. After, he had spaghetti, BBQ chicken, green beans, rice, sauteed shrimp and peppers in garlic sauce — and salad. At 1:30 AM Saturday, hours before the fight, Floyd got hungry and gobbled up even more BBQ chicken, spaghetti, green beans and rice.
