Youtube has recently begun rolling out updates to its website and platform, adding a new look, logo and new features.
The company has rolled out a simplified design that allows the content to be front and center, as well as a dark theme that turns the background darker while you watch for a more cinematic look.
The mobile app will be receiving a slew of new features, including navigation tabs to the bottom of the screen as well as two new tabs called Library and Account. Videos can be swiped left and right to view the last or next, respectively, and videos that can be displayed either vertical, square or horizontally. There’s also adjustable speed playback on mobile.
The YouTube logo and icon have also been updated. The logo combines a cleaned up version of the YouTube wordmark and icon, which works better across all platforms.
