The figures are in. Here’s what both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will take home, following their megafight in Las Vegas on Saturday (Aug. 26).
According to an ESPN, Floyd will earn a guaranteed purse of $100 million — the second time in his last three fights. However, it’s just a minimum for the boxing legend, who is coming out of a two-year retirement, because he’ll also receive a share of the event’s profits.
Mayweather earned a guaranteed $100 million purse for his 2015 megafight with Manny Pacquiao, but walked away with around $250 million. With his fight against McGregor expected to break the Mayweather-Pacquiao records, he’ll likely take home another payday well in excess of $200 million.
As for McGregor, his minimum purse is $30 million — dwarfing any payday he’s seen in the UFC. But, he’s expected to take home much more, because he too gets a share of the profits, which will likely exceed $100 million for McGregor.
Mayweather-McGregor takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26th.
This week, casinos took in two $1 million+ bets on Floyd Mayweather, while many others have also placed much lower bets on both fighters. Some fans will come out on top too.
