WBC Money Belt Mayweather-McGregor Fight

While Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor both will walk away with a big payday on Saturday (Aug. 26)… the victor will get a very pricey, customized belt too.

Being that Mayweather-McGregor it not a title fight, the WBC has created a special belt to present to the winner. Take a look at the “Money Belt”.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman showed off the belt at the final prefight news conference on Wednesday (Aug. 23) at the MGM Grand. He revealed that it is made of 1.5 kilograms (about 3.3 pounds) of gold and features 3,360 diamonds, 600 sapphires, 160 emeralds and Italian crocodile leather.

As you can see, it reads “Money Belt” across the top, WBC is branded in the middle, above the last name of both fighters.

The “Money Belt” took three weeks to make and cost more than $1 million.

“The fight was made because of money, so we have the Money Belt. The idea was to have the most incredible belt,” Sulaiman said. “The cost of the materials, the labor to make it, it is an expensive belt, and the winner of this big-money fight will deserve to have the Money Belt.”

According to ESPN, the WBC previously a diamond belt that Mayweather when he fought Miguel Cotto, a gold belt against Canelo Alvarez, and an emerald belt against Manny Pacquiao.
