Following its digital debut in Need For Speed Payback, BMW has unveiled the 2018 M5.
The four-door performance sedan is the first to feature four wheel drive. It also features a larger grille than the previous model, as well as a rear valance with diffuser, and the M’s trademark fender vents.
Inside, the M5 boasts heated sports seats and bright red buttons on the wheel for “M” driving mode presets.
Under the hood is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, with 600 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque — a 40-horsepower and 53-pound increase from last year’s model. It also features an 8-speed automatic and three driving modes, one of which is purely rear-drive where stability control is shut off.
The new M5 can zoom to mph in 3.2 seconds and top out at 155 mph. When the M Driver’s Package is installed, it can reach speeds of up to 189 mph.
As for appearance, its fitted with 19-inch wheels at each corner, with 275-mm tires at the front, and 285-mm tires at the back.
The First Edition M5s will be limited to just 50 cars in the U.S. However, pricing has yet to be announced. The 2018 BMW M5 drops in Spring 2018.
