Taco Bell Naked Egg Taco

Taco Bell announced this week an upcoming addition to its breakfast menu: the Naked Egg Taco.

As reported by CNBC, the new menu item features an egg taco shell that is filled with crispy potatoes, bacon or sausage and cheese. Customers can also order the item with a gordita flatbread to cover up the egg, if they choose.

The Naked Egg Taco was first test in Flint, Michigan, and apparently, it did well. So, Taco Bell has chosen a nationwide rollout.

The report notes that Taco Bell has relied heavily on quirky menu items to drive sales, with limited-time menu items helping attract new customers.

The new item follows the addition of the Croissant Taco, Naked Chicken Chalupa, Doritos Quesalupa Crunch, and Naked Morning Taco.

The Naked Egg Taco will rollout nationwide on August 31 for $1.99 USD. However, New York will have an opportunity to try it first on August 17, followed by Los Angeles on August 25, Austin on August 26 and Chicago on August 27.
