A crew of thieves in a semi truck recently made off with a trailer filled with nearly $1 million worth of sneakers, reports L.A. Weekly.
According to the report, the assailants took a container trailer loaded with sneakers on Sunday (Aug. 13) from a business in Torrance, Calif.
Despite being valued at around $1 million retail, police said the sneaker might be only fetch about $30,000 if sold on the black market.
Police have since recovered the shoes from a warehouse in nearby El Monte. However, no one has been arrested.
It’s also unclear why kind of sneakers were stolen, but police said they had a retail value of more than $100 per pair, on average.
