There’s been a lot of leaks out of Conor McGregor’s training camp, mostly surrounding his sparring sessions. There’s been reports that his sessions with former champ Paulie Malignaggi were intense… but after a photo leaked that showed the boxer on his back, things got a little tricky.

Malignaggi has since quit, calling his entire experience “a circus” and even goes as far as saying he beat McGregor’s ass.

In an interview with The MMA Hour on Monday (Aug. 7), the boxer threw some shots at McGregor.

“This guy is one of the biggest dirtbags I’ve ever met in my life, bar none,” Malignaggi said. “I was amazed at what a dirtbag this person is. I don’t care if we never speak again. My life is fine if I never see Conor McGregor again.”

He even called into question the UFC star’s skills, while saying his training camp runs things in an amateur way. Specifically, Paulie said they had McGregor’s sparring partners doing a full 12 rounds during sessions. He explained that for boxers, they typically rotate partners so the prize fighter is facing a well-rested opponent throughout the session. He says this speaks to McGregor’s entire mentality.

“He doesn’t want to be put in those positions. He wants to be the front runner,” Malignaggi said. “He wants to be the guy who always has the advantage, because when he has an advantage he’s a big man. When he gets tired, he wants out of a fight.”

While everything is just speculation at this point, we’ll all find out just how well-equipped McGregor is against a boxing great like Floyd Mayweather coming August 26th.
