Nearly four months after its Galaxy S8 model was first released, Samsung is prepping another, more rugged iteration called the Galaxy S8 Active.
The company calls the new smartphone the “toughest Galaxy smartphone yet”.
The Galaxy S8 Active features a rugged design and military-grade screen that is said to be shock, shatter, water, and dust resistant. You’ll also notice that it sports a metal frame and bumpers at its corners to protest it from shocks, while the back cover has a rugged texture “for a secure grip”.
Furthermore, the smartphone features the Bixby voice assistant’s home screen including quick access to a stopwatch, barometer, compass, and flashlight. Its also protected thanks to Samsung Knox, a defense-grade mobile security platform.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 Active releases Aug. 11 in Meteor Gray and Titanium Gold colorways at AT&T stores, while pre-orders are available on Tuesday (Aug. 8) here.
