Someone had a good weekend! A user on Reddit called CokeSlurpees apparently came up on a haul of Supreme T-shirts… paying just $4 each at Kmart.
Apparently, this guy discovered a pile of American Apparel shirts at the same Kmart earlier this year, and came back again recently, and found these blank Supreme tees in yellow, white, teal and green.
According to iD (via HighSnobiety), there’s an easy explanation. Retailers like Kmart will buy up liquidation stock when companies go under and selling them at a steep price cut and paying a nice profit. Previously, Supreme has never revealed where it gets its blank T-shirts from, but many believed the supplier to be American Apparel. Now, when American Apparel went bankrupt, instead of the tees going to Supreme, they’re were bought up with Kmart.
After some investigation, Redditors noted how the colorways matched the yellow “Nun” shirt from SS17 and the olive Nobuyoshi Araki tee from FW16.
Wow! That’s a come-up. Wonder if they will find their way on eBay soon?
