One person was killed and other seven were injured after a ride malfunctioned at the Ohio State Fair this week.
Graphic footage surfaced online of a swinging and spinning amusement park ride called the Fire Ball malfunctioning, with an arm breaking off in mid-air and hurling a number of people from the ride.
Officials said all rides are checked several times when they’re being set up to ensure they’re set up the way the manufacturer intended. The Fire Ball ride was inspected at a couple of different stages and was signed off Wednesday (July 26).
The Ohio State Fair will be open Thursday (July 27), but no rides will be running until they’re deemed safe.
An investigation is currently underway.
