Ivan Drago from Rocky IV

Sylvester Stallone has completed the script for the sequel to the Rocky spin-off Creed… and revealed some very interesting news.

The fictional boxer Ivan Drago, previously played by Dolph Lundgren, will apparently return.

Stallone revealed the news on Instagram, when he posted a photo of handwritten notes that will be translated into the screenplay for the movie. In it, the word “Drago” can be seen in the notes, appearing to confirm that Drago will return.

Ivan Drago to Return in "Creed 2"

Stallone has already teased this in previous posts. Back in June, he posted a picture of him directing Apollo and Drago, and described them as “the two best cinema boxers that ever lived.” He also posted a Photoshopped image of Donnie Creed (played by Michael B. Jordan) facing off against Drago with Stallone in the center.

Details of the plot are thin thus far, but news of Drago’s return should build excitement as he await further news.

There is one concern, however. Lundgren is now 59 years old, so its unclear how his return will translate on the screen.
