Apparently, a year apart has healed the relationship between Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook.
After falling out last summer, when KD abruptly left the OKC Thunder for the Warriors, Westbrook and Durant stopped talking… and Russ has refused to address the situation in the media.
In a recent interview with ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on the Woj Pod podcast, new OKC signee Paul George revealed that the two are back on speaking terms.
“Whatever went between him and Russ that’s their business,” he said, According to the Oklahoman. “It’s not my point to want to know or want to figure out what happened. It’s pointless. They are buddies, they are back good again. I’m here to build something different and something special.”
Aside from that, George didn’t offer any further details, but it’s good to hear the former teammates have buried the hatchet.
Another former Thunder teammate, Kendrick Perkins, also recently revealed that — in early April — Durant reached out to Westbrook and had a “nice conversation”. This came after Russ broke Oscar Robertson’s single-season triple-double record.
KD also congratulated him after he winning league MVP.
Perkins said the two were “back on talking terms.”
