Kevin Durant has agreed to a two-year deal with the Golden State Warriors for around $53 million, reports ESPN.

Fresh off his first championship, KD became an unrestricted free agent. His new deal includes a player option on the second year, which he plans to exercise in the summer of 2018.

Although Durant is taking a paycut of around $9 million this upcoming year, the deal allows the Warriors to recruit and retain talent -- including the Bird rights to Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston. Golden State locked up both players up for three more seasons... and thus, upping their chances of extending their championship run.

According to ESPN, the team is also working to retain big man JaVale McGee, who had a big year for the Warriors on a veterans minimum deal. Now, he's drawing interest from the Clippers, Suns and Heat.
