After just one season, the Chicago Bulls have waived Rajon Rondo.
The 31-year-old former All-Star signed a two-year deal with the Bulls during the offseason, which included a team option worth more than $13 million. It would’ve been fully guaranteed had the Bulls not waived him by Friday’s (June 30) deadline.
Reports said the team was trying to trade Rondo before the deadline, but nothing materialized.
Last season with the Bulls, Rondo averaged 7.8 points and 6.7 assists.
In addition to Rondoa, the Bulls waived guard Isaiah Canaan, who appeared in 39 games season and averaged 4.6 points per game.
