It’s no secret President Donald Trump isn’t the most-liked man around the country… but actor Johnny Depp took his dislike for the president maybe a bit too far this week.

He appeared onstage at the Glastonbury Festival on Thursday (June 21) and delivered a very controversial joke about assassinating Trump. “When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?” Depp asked, prompting laughter from the crowd.

He followed up, saying he’s not an actor, but instead someone who “lies for a living”. He then, however, said, it’s “been a while, and maybe it’s time.”

While Depp was obviously joking, the Secret Service noticed and told media they are aware of Depp’s comments.

And, to answer Depp’s question. The last actor to assassinate a president was John Wilkes Booth, who shot and killed President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.
