Mother Shot by Ex-Boyfriend Dies in Teen Son's Arms

These types of tragic stories are happening just too much these days.

Over Father's Day weekend, a Detroit mother was shot in front of children and died in her teen son's arms.

According to Fox 2, 42-year-old Latrese Morris Dorsey was fatally shot on Father's Day in front of her 4-year-old daughter Jada, following an argument with her ex-boyfriend, Earl Maxwell.

The mother of three had just moved into the home earlier this year with her children, after getting out of a relationship. However, the family says her ex wasn't ready to let her go.

Dorsey's 14-year-old son was in his room when he heard arguing and then gunshots. When he ran to check on his mom, she was clinging to life... and died in his arms shortly after.

She was shot five times, after which Maxwell fled... and was eventually arrested.

"She took her last breaths in my nephew’s arms," her sister Megan Morris said.

So sad!! Condolences to the family.
