Shortly after officer Jeronimo Yanez shot Philando Castile during a traffic stop in Minnesota last summer, his fiancee and her daughter were thrown into the back of a police car.
Well, footage of the two in the back of that squad car has been released… and its heartbreaking.
His fiancee Diamond Reynolds originally broadcast the aftermath of the 2016 police shooting on Facebook Live, just after she and her 4-year-old daughter witnessed him being shot… and killed. Immediately after, officers took them into the custody, handcuffing Reynolds and placing her and the little girl in the back of the car.
At first, Reynolds appears to lose it, while the child tries to comfort her mother. Then, its the child who breaks into tears. “I wish I was with my dada,” the 4-year-old says, while crying. And later, the little girl pleads with her mom to be quiet, fearing for their lives. “Mom, please don’t scream ’cause I don’t want you to get shooted!”
Reynolds is also heard continuously repeating, “Please God, let him be okay”.
The video has just now been released, following Yanez’s trial. He was found not guilty of manslaughter last week.
