40 Glocc was shot on Thursday (June 15), while attending a funeral service in San Bernardino, Calif.
According to the San Bernardino County Sun, the rapper (born Lawrence White) was attending the funeral of a friend on Thursday afternoon, and while walking back to his vehicle, a car pulled up on him and opened fire.
The report says he was walking with a woman, when the car pulled up and shot him twice — once in the arm and another in the chest. The woman was also grazed by a shot and dragged briefly by the car.
40 Glocc and the woman were hospitalized and expected to survived.
San Bernardino police are investigating whether or not the shooting was gang-related. So far, no arrests have been mad and further details about the shooting are unknown.
40 was placed under a gang injunction in 2010, in connection to his ties to local gang the Colton City Crips. However, in court, he’s maintained that his mention of the gang in his music are just a part of his act as an entertainer.
