Following the announcement of the anticipated Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor megafight, we take a look back at highlights of Floyd’s career.
The boxing star was never a big puncher, nor did he have a lot of knockouts under his belt (just 26 in 49 fights). What he will go down in history as is one of the greatest defensive fighters of all-time.
Arguably the most elusive fighter ever, Mayweather won his fights with lightning fast reflexes and probably the best counterpunching ability we’ve ever seen. Getting into the ring with Floyd “Money” Mayweather is like chasing a ghost, because most fighters could never hit him. Opponents were regularly left looking like amateurs, swinging and hitting nothing but air through entire fights.
Take a look at some of his best moments in the video above, aptly titled “The Defensive Genius”.
What that said, its unlikely McGregor will be any real threat to Mayweather’s perfect record, especially after a recent video surfaced where he’s getting schooled by a lesser known boxing pro.
Who do you got? Mayweather or McGregor?
