While social media has created a number of celebrities, building wealth isn’t so easy… and takes time.

Just ask Diddy, who tops Forbes’ 2017 list for the World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities, earning an estimated $130 million over the past 12 months!

As Forbes points out, Diddy appeared on the cover of their first-ever Celebrity 100 issue nearly two decades ago, where he made it clear he was aiming success long term. “I ain’t foolin’ around… I’m building assets,” he told Forbes back in 1999.

Today, the hip-hop mogul has made a fortune with a number of business ventures. The report says the majority of his 2017 earnings comes from selling one-third of his Sean John clothing line for an estimated $70 million. But, he still earns from his lucrative Diageo Ciroc vodka partnership, while earning even more from his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour and his REVOLT TV network.

Behind Diddy is Beyonce, who earned $105 milllion, thanks to her Formation World Tour and Lemonade release.

Author J.K. Rowling comes in third with $95 million; Drake follows in fourth with $94 million, thanks to his relentless touring; and soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo rounds out the top 5 with $93 million.
