With the long-awaited Tupac biopic All Eyez On Me coming later this year, HBO is delivering a First Look special.

During the special, fans will get to see previously unreleaesed behind the scenes footage and cast interviews, as well as star Demetrius Shipp Jr.’s audition tape for the role of the late Tupac Shakur, which we get a look at in this exclusive clip.

“My assistant came and said, ‘I don’t know how to tell you this, but 2Pac is in the lobby.’ I walk out, and lo and behold, I’m like ‘Yo, it’s 2Pac.’ This kid was 2Pac, in every sense of the word,” producer L.T. Hutton says, recalling the moment he first star Shipp and realized he had found the film’s star.

In addition to Shipp, the film stars The Walking Dead’s Danai Gurira as Afeni Shakur, Kat Graham as Jada Pinkett, Dominic L. Santana as Suge Knight, and Jamal Woolard as the Notorious B.I.G. — he previously played Biggie in director George Tillman Jr.’s 2009 biopic Notorious.

All Eyez On Me hits theaters June 16, coinciding with what would have been Tupac’s 46th birthday.
