A month after the Fyre Festival made headlines when the island event completely fell apart, emails have leaked that reveal executives knew weeks ahead that they couldn't deliver on their promises.

Despite pulling the plug, they pushed ahead, knowing that the "luxury experience" they promised was not possible.

Mic obtained emails, which find executives exchanging emails back and forth, joking about the lack of bathrooms and lack of accommodations.

"This is a luxury campsite where people will be using this as only source of relief for [five] consecutive days," executive producer Lyly Villanueva wrote in one email. "We have to move quick on this or we are in a sh*tty place, lol. Sorry."

Fyre Media president Conall Arora responded, adding that it could get costly... so there was a solution. "It sounds like we can save a lot of money if we sub in port a potties," he wrote.

The another exchange, executives discussed the shortage of housing, even mentioning that at one point, they believed almost 600 people would be without housing.

"The majority of them are not going to receive what they were promised," said senior consultant Mark Weinstein. "In speaking to even low level influencers, it was clear they expected their own rooms at private villas on the beach. Of course, these villas don't exist."

Despite the fiasco and lawsuits, Fyre Festival co-founder Billy McFarland has said they plan to go back to the drawing board and throw their first event next year.

It's unlikely anyone will want to attend at this point.
