Though UFC star Conor McGregor is likely training in preparation of his potential superfight with Floyd Mayweather, his business moves don’t stop.
Conor announced over the weekend that he’s signed a deal with Beats By Dre, becoming an official brand athlete.
Specifics of the deal were not revealed, but McGregor thanked Drake for helping facilitate the deal. He also gave a shoutout to Bono (of U2) and Dre’s partner Jimmy Iovine.

It's a beautiful day! I am now officially a @beatsbydre athlete! Shoutout to the great Jimmy Iovine, Bono @U2, and also my brother @Champagnepapi as we began working this deal at his show in L.A. It is an honour for me to join this prestigious team, alongside some of the worlds greatest athletes and musicians. Welcome to the Mac Life. #BEHEARD
Last year, McGregor spoke about his friendship with Drake, telling UFC’s Megan Olivi they met at the Summer Sixteen Tour… and have been friends ever since.
“I’m a big fan of Drake,” he said. “I had a meeting with Jimmy Iovine of Apple and he invited me to the show… I’d spoke to Drake before the first Diaz fight — he reached out and messaged me — and we’ve been in contact since then.”
McGregor joins a roster of Beats endorsers that include LeBron James, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Naomi Campbell, among others.
